Destiny

Everything is predestined
Now before you disagree
Hear out the wisdom of the earth
Free will is ours
We are not captives of our fate
But wielders of path
Whatever we believe
Whichever way we act
Our movements written on the stars
The nebulas of moments
Banging into nothingness
It's the story of us
Our worlds are infinite
We are the mothers of realities
Giving birth to each consciousness
Do you follow?
Everything is predestined
Because everything can be
It is the ultimate secret of it all
As dark and light appear to struggle
We continue to ebb on in the ocean of all
But all is none you see
Because all can be anything
Everything is predestined
To be all and nothing that it wishes to be

Herbal medication

The plant roots on my headache
And it bears flowers
Do your ritual for your sake
Go and tap your special powers

Sometimes I forget that help is all around
People or nature it's all for us
The perspective we wield aren't bound
Release from the shackles we must

From the gardens of the universe
A seed on earth it grows
Pluck it with truth
Let the healing begin

The plant roots on my headache
And it bears flowers
Do your ritual for your sake
Go and tap your special powers

Slaves to the mind want slaves for themselves
Step out of your prison you are the key
It's only us against ourselves
The world is ours can't you see

From the gardens of space
Everywhere its seed grows
Pluck it with truth
Let the healing begin

What dreams may or have come

As we were munching on chinese food, my dad began blabbing about imagination. He talked of things that were once dreams but are now reality. Like Gundam and Voltes 5, Japan now has actual weaponized robots that look a lot like the ones in anime and manga.

Then I started thinking about sci-fi, fantasy, myth, and even religion. My dad went on about how what ever it is that the human mind conceives can somehow become true or have come true in the past. He also said something about the genes.

And I began thinking about how maybe we are able to tap into the universal consciousness whether consciously or subconsciously. Like a pool of memory of days past, eras, and versions of our reality.

While taking a lot of things too literally have brought devastation to earth, maybe a lot, if not all things that are considered to be figments of our imagination, works of art, fiction or fantasy, myth and religion could be ideas and memories of all that was and what could be.

Funemployment

Hey blogosphere! It has indeed been a while since I last made an entry. Apart from my notorious tendency to up and leave blogs to wither and die a natural death, I have been incredibly busy with all the things happening in my life.

As you might've guessed from the title, yes, I am now unemployed! Two weeks going on three actually. And it's mainly because I'm going back to school to take up my master's. But the truth is, my previous work has become very toxic and I've simply had enough.

I know I learned a lot, especially in terms of honing my writing skillzzz as well as in learning to deal with tough clients with very high standards. I also gained confidence in terms of my craft and my ability to overcome challenges in a professional environment. But creativity wise, it wasn't doing much to stimulate my imagination and it wasn't presenting any creative avenues. The work was extremely demanding skill wise, but I found it dull and uninspiring.

Thankfully, I have school to run towards else I'd have to quit my job, one way or another, and find a new one that will hopefully be better.

Alas, here I am, awaiting school and going about my own way to remain productive. Now that I've no work to attend to, it's the perfect opportunity to do some soul searching and enhance my creativity. That I plan to do by blogging more, creating works of art, and indulging on literature, music, art, and visual candies - all of which I plan to share and ponder on here in my blog.

I am also on the process of getting in touch with my entrepreneurial side as my sis and I have launched an online shop where we sell our pre-loved stuff - clothes and accessories that we hardly used with some even brand new or used at a maximum of two. So far, we've had a few queries and two clients with a couple reservations.

So, to cut things short, this post right here marks my return to blogging. So help me jeevus!

Of simplicity and no-nonsense dressing

I've always had a thing for minimalism and everything laid back. While I also love frivolity in fashion and overwhelming dozes of intricate designs piled on top of one another, I can't deny my love for effortless cool, dead colors, the lack of color, combined with a keen focus on silhouettes, angles, and shapes that do not speak in terms of patterns and prints. I like it muted and big on the bigger picture then empty on the inside.

Recently, I came across an article on the newspaper I work for. It talked of #normcore and its apparent popularity. Being in the third world, social trends tend to arrive late. And in my lack of drive to be constantly in the know, I missed the memo. I brushed up on a couple of write-ups that seek to explain and make sense of the growing trend. In a sea of fashion-obsessed and trend-hungry zombies, some cite that normcore is a mere facet of a growing anti-fashion sentiment, though I really would like to beg to differ because I have seen fashion people eating normcore up, myself included.

Some also say that normcore is a theory rather than a look. The idealistic side of me would like to believe that this movement is beyond aesthetics. A revolution rolled out by a few intellectual aesthetes who have just grown tired of always always chasing trends and that it is much more practical and safe and powerful to keep things simple, comfy, and basic. However however, as much as I would like to believe that, that isn't the case where I am from because I am witness to the fact that people enjoy dressing effortlessly cool in my side of the world first and foremost because it is the quintessential cool kid look. Call me shallow but it really is the case, well at least for me because I know most of these people.

Hmm... What makes me attracted to this aesthetic is precisely the aesthetics. I find it hard to maintain this look because I am a fan of a lot of looks. But I'd love to keep it for as long as possible because it is so practical and cool all at the same time. It is simple yet powerful but I am torn as to how I'll execute it in such a way that it will still have ME written all over it.

Oh well, I really was surprised that there's a growing trend so much so that they now have a name for it. Weird. Although I aint shocked because I felt it coming, 90s resurgence as seen on runways.

Press start for summer

A compilation of photographs, of moments and memories I've been soaking in since the sunny season began in my little ole third world archipelago.

A hodgepodge of shots I took when I went to Cebu for Sinulog, 7107 imf to see Red Hot Chili Peppers, Mt. Arayat to try out a spot, and then bits and pieces of images from my recent trip to Baler to bond with my dear overseas worker friend Cresta, a selfie I took when we stayed at Sofitel for my sister's born day, and a picture of myself taken earlier today in the sleepy city of Malabon which got its name from an abundance of bamboo shoots harvested from that area during the days of yore. The Filipino word, "Ma-labong" which literally translates to "a lot of bamboo shoots."

It's been a while since I last wrote an entry. As I've mentioned way back when I started this blog, I have a hard time maintaining diaries and blogs. I used to write a lot in my diaries only because I had no one to talk to about my feelingzzz, but I guess things change and I am mostly too tired to make one. But I'm trying to get back to it, so this is my feeble attempt at doing so, yet again.
